Ten Thousand Villages
Ten Thousand Villages stores provide vital and fair income to people in developing countries by selling their handicrafts and telling their stories in North America. Ten Thousand Villages works with artisans who would otherwise be unemployed or underemployed.
The Raleigh store was started in 1995 by a group from Raleigh Mennonite Church. Over the past 10 years, many from RMC have supported Ten Thousand Villages by serving as members of the Board, volunteering, or by shopping there. During this period, the involvement of many other churches and individuals have made Ten Thousand Villages a broad-based community effort.
